What is SIP Forking?
What is Parallel Forking?
Parallel forking is where the SIP call will be directed to multiple devices. All devices attached to the extension will ring at the same time, and any can be used to answer and begin the call.
What is Sequential Forking?
Sequential forking calls only one device at a time. A sequence is set up in the order that the user of the extension would like the devices to be called. Should one device not be answered, the next device in the sequence will then be called.
SIP Forking & Call Centres
Call centres can really make the most out of SIP Forking. With the use of call rules, forking and the IP PBX can be set up to automatically direct inbound calls to any extension that is available to take a call.
